If you want to be healthier (and slimmer) quickly, it has been reported the first step you must take is to change your diet. Here are 3 common sense guidelines that will help you lose weight. 1. Eat Simply Basically the more simply you eat the better. It’s easy to un-do the good work of eating a healthy salad if add un-healthy extras. Things like crispy noodles, croutons, and sweetly marinated vegetables are best avoided. Stick to a good organic sea salt, olive oil and fresh lime or lemon for flavour. It’s fine to add a handful or two of nuts, seeds or dried fruits such as sun-drenched tomatoes. Anything that grows (nothing in a packet) is good for you. Eat as much fruit and vegetables as you like. You can never overdose on nature! 2. Include Daily Fibre Fibre fills you up and keeps you satisfied for longer. When you eat meals that are high in fibre cholecystokinin (the hormone responsible for telling your brain you are full) is released. When you are full you will have fewer tendencies to over-eat and therefore lose weight naturally. Eating all-bran at the beginning of you day, for breakfast is a healthy way to start you day. It is high in fibre. Don’t go for sugary cereals – eat plain, un-sweetened all bran.All-bran is naturally sweet. If you don’t find it too bitter, add some natural honey. Nutritionists recommend women eat at least 30g of fibre each day. Although no one can agree how many grams you consume, most women are not getting even one third of this. 3. Treat Yourself Depriving yourself of treats all the time will not ensure you lost weight easily. Most likely it will lead to blow-out binges where we over-eat the wrong kinds of foods. We all know which foods are unhealthy. So eat them regularly – but in small quantities. Eat 2 chocolates each day – not the whole box. We’re all human and should all enjoy eating the foods we like. This way we don’t feel deprived and can easily stick to healthy eating the rest of the day.
